Dalmuir Drop Lock and Bridge. The Drop Lock provides navigation below the busy Dumbarton Road. To avoid opening the bridge and stop the road traffic, this particular lock has been built. Boats enter the lock; the water level is lowered; boats passes under the road; the water level raises to canal level at the other side. |

Ecluse Descendante et Pont de Dalmuir. L'Ecluse Descendante permet la navigation sous la route de Dumbarton qui est fort fréquentée. Afin d'éviter d'ouvrir le pont et d'interrompre le trafic routier, cette écluse assez particulière a été conçue. Les bateaux entrent dans l'écluse; le niveau d'eau est abaissé; les bateaux passent sous le pont; on remonte le niveau d'eau au niveau normal de l'autre côté du pont. |
